I rather liked how the new mustangs have the area between the lights blacked out, so I found some masking tape and some plastidip I had sitting around and proceeded to sin. Looks good. My dipjob is rubbish because you can’t mask plastidip without it tearing when you unmask it, but it looks good enough I might spring for an actual blackout panel.
What in the shit, Kinja? Why can’t I move pictures around anymore?

I approve.

I could remove it, but I’m far too lazy.

It’s been far too long since my last dipjob.

Yeah, plastidip’s Achilles heel is the edges peeling. I was gonna say use a blade around the edges before removing the mask, but you'd hate to cut the paint by accident.

Take the tape off before it drys.

That’s impossible when doing four coats though. Do a coat, by the time it’s time for the next one it’s already too late to peel.

Last coat. Or use an xacto knife.

Looks pretty good. Doubt someone would notice it's not real paint if they see it on the road or even parked without taking a really close look.

These things are a godsend for working around paint.

Use plastic razor blades and goo-gone to get rid of the dealership sticker. Then, get some black 3m vinyl and black that shit out.

We’ve got industrial strength shit for getting stickers off at the dealership. We use it to get other dealership stickers off. I’ll be using it when my new blackout panel gets here

Now it’s “don don Hattan Hattan shop us last you’ll love us” and we have a bunch of TV adverts I’ve never seen.
